Officers
& Vestry
The vestry is the elected body of
St. Paul's Church. They, in cooperation with the rector,
oversee the affairs of the parish, as directed by canonlaw,
and provide parish leadership. The rector serves as
the chair of the vestry. The vestry consists of 12
elected members and the Junior and Senior Wardens.
Meetings are open to members of the congregation. Please do not hesitate to contact either of the Wardens, or any member of the Vestry, if you have any concerns or questions about St. Paul’s Church on Nantucket.

| Sam
Daume, Senior Warden |
| Sam has been coming to Nantucket since 1940. He has lived here year around since 1991. Sam was a Banker for 30 years in New York and Boston and has been busy with real estate sales for the past 16 years. Episcopalian since birth, Sam declares that he had a 23 year “vacation” from church and returned in 1991. Having been off and (mostly) on vestry since mid 90’s, Sam has also served as Treasurer, and has filled his current post of Senior Warden since Sept 2004. Sam’s wife, Sheila, helps at St. Paul’s but is also very active in summer at the ‘Sconset Chapel. They have three sons and five grandchildren. |

| Betsy
Brown,
Junior Warden |
| Betsy and her husband Roger became fulltime Nantucket residents in 1999, after 10 years of extended visits and a lifetime in Chicago. With a strong commitment to community service, Betsy served myriad organizations and on several boards in Chicago, and is presently on the board of Hospice Care on Nantucket, and the Human Services Center where she is chair of their capital campaign. Betsy has run her own Interior Design business, as well as an enterprise training and selling Hunter and Jumper horses. Four children and 3 grandchildren, gourmet cooking, fishing, and enjoying Nantucket beaches fill up any spare moments! |

| Ken
Beaugrand, Treasurer |
Ken and his wife Gussie have been on Nantucket full time since 1994. Ken owns Nantucket Real Estate Company and in addition to acting as Treasurer of St Paul's, he is a Trustee of the Nantucket Historical Association and the Nantucket Preservation Trust, a director of the Rotary Club on Nantucket, Chairman of the Community Preservation Committee and a member of the Executive Committee of the Nantucket Association of Real Estate Brokers. |

| Nancy
Jane Woolley, Clerk |
| While she was born and grew up in Arkansas, Nancy Jane lived most of her adult life fifty miles north of New York City in Pound Ridge, NY where she was involved in civic, governmental and environmental affairs. Nancy Jane and her husband Ed have three grown children and four grandchildren. Upon retirement they moved to their summer home in Nantucket where they are “living happily after.” |

| Jack Curlett (2007) |
| It was a “National Geographic” feature that lured Jack to Nantucket in 1970…the love affair has never waned. Jack and his wife Anne summer on island, and return often, all year, to their home just steps from St. Paul’s, from their home base in Winston-Salem, N.C. A Baltimore native, graduate of Friends School and Yale, Jack was with McCormick & Co. from 1958-1981, and retired as Pres. Of Xpres Corp. in 1993. Passionate about family and friends and his relationship with God, Jack also loves to travel to experience new cultures and people. |

| Mike Gunson (2007) |
Prior to coming to moving to Nantucket in 1999, Mike and his wife Mindy lived in Denver Colorado for 30 years. After vacationing here for 12 years, a permanent move was made and Mike returned to his real estate career with Congdon and Coleman Real Estate. Mike had been a Commercial Developer with the Trammel Crow Company in Denver and has extensive background in this area. Mindy is an interior designer on Nantucket; their daughter, Ashley, owns the Chocolate Lingerie on Center street and lives here full time as well. |

| Sandy
Knox-Johnston (2007) |
| Seeking change from a life in "official” Washington DC, and with a background in historic preservation & design, and also Pastoral & Family Counseling, Sandy returned to Nantucket (the scene of youthful visits), and joined St. Paul’s in 1976. She bought and restored the historic Corner House Inn in 1979, married her British husband John in 1984; they operated the inn together until 2004. The evolution toward retirement means more time for travel and family (especially 11 grandchildren!). May-Dec on Nantucket…the rest in Scotland or Santa Barbara, CA. A long time hospice volunteer, Sandy now serves on the board of Hospice Care Foundation on Nantucket and Direct Relief International in Santa Barbara. |

| Mary Emery LaCoursiere (2007) |
| Mary first came to Nantucket in 1960 as an infant visiting the part of Nantucket that became Esther Island in 1961. Mary moved to Nantucket full time in 1999 after her marriage to Mike Lacoursiere. By then she had earned an MFA from Pratt Institute, and spent 15 years in New York where her own design studio specialized in hand painted sisal rugs, murals, and early American decorative arts. She was also a contributing artist for Lifetime Television and Hearst Entertainment. On Nantucket she continues to run her decorative arts and interior design business as well as The NHA's 1800 House programs. |

| George Fowlkes (2008) |
| A lifetime summer resident of Nantucket, where he is able to exercise his passions for sailing and golf, George is also a lifetime summer member of St. Paul’s Church. George and his wife Jeanette reside in New York City for the remainder of the year… when they aren’t exploring far-flung corners of the globe. A three term Warden of St. James Church in New York, and former President of the Episcopal Church Foundation and Trustee of the Diocese of New York, George currently serves as Chairman of the Board of Berkeley Divinity School at Yale and President of Board for St. James Church Florence Italy. |

| Sarah Newton (2008) |
| Sarah Bankson Newton is a summer resident of Nantucket and a life long Episcopalian. She has a B.A. form Yale and an M.B.A. from Wharton, and after a career in real estate pension fund management is an active community volunteer and mother. She is a Trustee of the Nantucket Historical Association and St. Paul's School in Concord, New Hampshire, and a Board member of the Concord-Carlisle Community Chest. She and her husband Jeff have been married for 18 years, have two daughters and a son, and they spend most of the year in Concord, Massachusetts. |

| John Osbon (2008) |
With a BA from University of Chicago, and an MBA from Columbia Graduate School of Business, John has been in the private wealth management business since 1982. Since founding, and becoming Chief Investment Officer of Osbon Capital Management in 2004, John, his wife Andrea and their two children, now split their time between Boston and Nantucket. John has served as a trustee of the Nantucket New School, The Boys and Girls Club of Nantucket, as well as many Boston organizations. He currently serves on the Board of Overseers for the Boston Ballet and the Development Board of Park Street School in Boston. |

| Randy Wight (2008) |
| Lifelong summer residents of Nantucket, Randy and husband Ned met here in 1955, married in 1962 and lived in Baltimore until moving to Nantucket permanently in 2000. Family, including 4 children and 12 grandchildren, remain the focus of their life. With a background in Education and Pastoral Counseling, Randy spent many years as Director of Admissions & Financial Aid, as well as Guidance Counselor at Garrison Forest School in Baltimore. Always committed to volunteering and community affairs, Saltmarsh Senior Center, Meals on Wheels and myriad other organizations now benefit from Randy's skills & energy. |

| Kip Arsenault (2009) |
| Kip was born and brought up in Reading, MA. and moved to Nantucket permanently in 1971. He is a Nantucket USPS retiree, worked in restaurant management on the island, and is currently a site administrator for a general contractor. He met his wife Lou, a Pediatric Nurse Practitioner on Nantucket. With 35 years of marriage and 3 children he can’t imagine a better place to have lived these years. He says that he considers it an honor to serve as a member of St. Paul’s vestry and is looking forward to the challenges. |

| Kiril Coonley (2009) |
Kiril is a first generation American of Swedish/Russian heritage. After growing up in NYC and serving in the Marines, he earned a BS in Economics in 1967, the year he and Judy were married. Shortly thereafter he joined a major N.Y. bank and spent the ensuing thirty years working internationally for them as well as for the largest bank in Saudi Arabia. Kiril and Judy have summered on Nantucket since 1983 and they moved here permanently in 2000. On Nantucket he has served as a Director of the Nantucket Education Trust and has been Flotilla Commander of the US Coast Guard Auxiliary. |

| Beverly Hall (2009) |
| Having been a member of St. Paul's for over 40 years Beverly is now serving her third 3 year term on the vestry. A native New Yorker and professional photographer whose passion is exploring the spirituality of the relationship between art, gardening, family and every day life. The recognition of this interest led her to seminary in 2000 where she received a Master of Divinity degree from The Episcopal Divinity School in 2002. She also hosts a retreat house “Shell Om”, on the west end of the island. |

| Marshall Keys (2009) |
| Marshall has a Ph.D. in English and a degree in library science, and has worked in colleges, universities, and the library world. He is mostly retired, but continues to give keynote speeches to groups in the information industry and works with libraries on strategic planning. His wife Sandy is a Harvard MBA who is retired from owning an investment company. They have two married children and one granddaughter. |
